In what ways could you improve your writing to better express your ideas and enhance content? Be specific.

I think in both essays the information that I needed was there but I was more desriptive in the Alchemist essay. In both essays I discussed each of the characters behaivors. In the Alchemist I talked about Santiago's character traits; loyalty, love, and bravery and gave examples of each. In Julius Caesar I also discussed Brutus's problems; trust, friendship, and patriotism with examples. In the Alchemist I could have done better at explaining my examples and quotes. There were not enough examples for two of my topics; Love, and Bravery I should have added at least one more to each. I should have explained the quote about love in more detail. I also could have clarifed my ideas and explained the examples in more detail, and showed why Brutus did not trust Caesar.
Organization

In both essays I had the basic structure of the essay which is, introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. In each I had a thsis statement that made it clear what i was discussing, for the alchemist I used "Santiago does this with three character traits: loyalty, love, and bravery." The paragraphs discussed these topics in that order. In the JC essay the sequnce I wrote the body paragraphs in, was not how I stated in the introduction i should have discussed Brutus's love for Rome before discussing his distrust for Caesar. My ideas were not .always connected to eachother clearly. Like how I talked about Brutus's ancestors then I jumped to ho brutus has no reson to kill Caersar. So next time i'll try to organize my ideas.

Personal Growth

emits essay because we weren't given time limit as we had with the Caesar essay. It was better because it was more organized and clear to follow. We were able to do drafts and make changes and improvements, it helps when i get feedback to help me do better. Yet I did better in Julius Caeser at including and explaining my quotes. I did better on the sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, and less mistakes in the Alchemist I had more time to do it.

In my essay I used thinking creatively to make my alchemist essay I thought I used the quotes

to make my writing sound more believable and hive the reader a better understand my writing. I also made the title to fit with Santiago's problem, to find his destiny.

“ I’ve no personal reason to spurn at him, it is for the general”.
Brutus plots against Caesar, it’s for the good of the people of Rome, not for any personal business, Brutus is very confused. Brutus is driven by his love for Rome, and his distrust for Caesar character changing if he get’s the power, so Brutus makes the decision to join the conspirators.


Brutus and Caesar are good friends, so Brutus feels that Caesar will change if he gets the crown. The reason Brutus feels this way because; he feels that when Caesar gets into power he will not be sympathetic. “The abuse of greatness is when it disjoins remorse from power”. Brutus has known Caesar for a long time and he is always calculating and never lets his emotions take over. “I have not known when his affections sway’d more than his reason”. When Cassius told Brutus of Flavius and Marrulios death Brutus was more convinced that Caesar would change.

Brutus loves Caesar but he loves Rome more, Brutus believes that Rome should be a republic not under the rule of a king. He could feel this way because; he wants to defend what his ancestors fought for and live up to his name. “ I do fear the people choose Caesar for their king”, Yet Brutus still doesn’t want to kill Caesar. “ I know personal cause to spurn at him, it is for the general”. Brutus has chosen to kill Caesar for the good of Rome not for personal reasons.

The biggest conflict I think Brutus had to face was deciding if he’s going to kill Caesar or not, you could see it affected him a lot. Brutus was not sure if Caesar could be trusted, soon Brutus showed a lot of patriotism for Rome and protected it. Brutus’s character started to change when he had done this he started to become more arrogant. I think Brutus his goal, he said he just wanted to kill Caesar to protect Rome and he did, yet I think he also saved Rome cause Caesar was a very ambitious man, you don’t know what he would have done. I don’t think he did was very noble because Brutus went behind Caesars back and killed him, plus he was one of his best friends and Caesar trusted him and Brutus killed him.

Think Creatively!
Identify and discuss some of the creative elements of your collage.

The creative part of my collage was that I tried to combine the pictures and the words so they would give a clear idea what had happened to the children. I showed pictures of injuries and behavior of cruelty towards the children, and I used words to draw attention and explain the children's problems. I arranged the collage into sections like sorrow, pain, slavery, so it is easier for the viewer to understand what was happening. The collage was made clearer by my creativity.

How did you use the images and text that you selected to highlight your understanding of the Lost Boy’s situation?

I understood the boys pain, sorrow, and slave conditions that they went through. I used images that showed examples of the experiences they went through. For pain I showed a boy who had gun shot wounds in his cast and leg, then for slavery I showed a soldier making the children support him, then I showed a little boy crying on the floor. I used the words to divide the pictures into sections on the collage. The images I chose to show the different types of pain The Lost Boys suffered.

Explain how your collage creates awareness for the Lost Boys’ plight.

In my collage I tried to make the viewer aware of the Lost Boys experiences on their journey. I did this by showing images of things they had to worry about like the people with guns, lack of of food, and bullying. Then I used words to explain the pictures, to help the audience understand better. I chose these because, they where the most common experiences The Boys went through.

Explain how you think your collage demonstrated empathy and might evoke an emotional response from your viewers and/or incite them to act.

In the collage some of my pictures would evoke an emotional response, the pictures where vivid and show the pain that they went through, especially with the little kids being made to hold up the soldier. From my poster i thought it was clear that i understood the feeling of The Lost Boys, having no dads or someone to depend on to survive. I saw in the images that no boys were helped by anyone.
